exchange.et is free for visitors. This page explains how we fund the service, so you can weigh the content accordingly.

Affiliate links may appear once provider affiliate programs are activated. Today most money-transfer providers on the site are shown without a commission arrangement, so there is often no affiliate link to click. When an affiliate link is present, it is labelled "Sponsored" at the point of click, and sponsored providers are shown in a separate module, never mixed into the independent rate ranking. A commission never changes the rate you are quoted.
We may offer sponsored or promoted provider listings in the future, but they are not currently available on the site. Any future sponsored listings will be clearly labelled and kept separate from independent editorial content.
Developers can use our API under a free tier or a paid subscription. API subscriptions fund a significant share of our infrastructure and data-collection costs.
Advertising on this site is opt-in and never personalized. We show an ad only after you grant advertising consent in Cookie Settings, and granting analytics consent does not grant advertising consent. When we serve ads they appear on English pages only: the Amharic pages, the account, developer, admin, error and legal pages, and the embedded widget never carry advertising. Every request is made as non-personalized, so we do not ask Google to build an advertising profile from your visits to this site or to any other. Withdrawing advertising consent in Cookie Settings removes the ad code from the page. Active Web-plan subscribers see no advertising at all. The Web plan is separate from Developer API plans and does not increase API quotas. If advertising is not enabled on this deployment, no ad code is loaded and no ad request is made.
We do not sell personal data. Monetisation comes from the channels described above, not from trading your information.
Commissions and sponsorship do not change the exchange rates we publish or their independent ranking. Rates come from bank and reference sources; some are collected through third-party mirrors identified in Data Sources. Affiliate disclosures appear beside sponsored provider links.
API access, embeddable widgets, and paid API plans (Free, Pro, Growth, Enterprise) are the product side of exchange.et. They are developer-facing tools, kept separate from the consumer rate results so your rate decision is never cluttered with product upsells.
